Payment methods

The payment methods available through the Tranzak API, how each one works, and how a payment moves from creation to confirmation.

One endpoint creates a payment, whatever the method. You change only the payment_method field.

Details for each method:

How a payment works

  1. Create. Your server calls POST /payments with the amount, currency and method. Tranzak returns a transaction_id, and a payment_url for redirect methods.
  2. Pay. The customer pays on the provider's screen, or in the widget on your page.
  3. Return. For redirect methods, the customer's browser comes back to your return URL. See Customer return URL.
  4. Confirm. Your server learns the final status from the signed webhook, or by reading the payment. See Confirm a payment.

Payment statuses

status Meaning Final
pending, processing Created. The customer has not finished. No
completed Paid. Yes
failed Refused, abandoned or expired. Yes

A transaction left in processing for 15 minutes is automatically marked failed, unless it was paid in the meantime. Tranzak checks MonCash and NatCash first.

Recurring payments

Recurring payments are available with lakaypay_card only. See Hosted card page.
